International betting technology company Parimatch has further strengthened its esports credentials with the appointment of Marcelo Augusto David ‘Coldzera’ as its new Esports Brand Ambassador.
Under the terms of the contract, Brazilian professional esports player Coldzera – who has been the number one ranked competitor on Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) for two years running – will support Parimatch’s social network initiatives.
Stepan Shulga, Head of esports at Parimatch said: “Great news for the Parimatch and esports community. My company aims to become a global brand and this partnership with Marcelo displays us for Brazillian esports fans, opening the door to the global markets.
“Marcelo will help us with communication – it is very important that esports pros share their inspiring experience with fans. Welcome aboard, amigo! Let’s make the esport planet spin faster!”
Speaking to Shulga in an interview posted on YouTube, Coldzera discussed his new appointment and his career in professional esports.
“[I am] happy to announce my partnership with Parimatch and meet my battle CS:GO comrade Daniil “Zeus” Teslenko on one side, together with such global sport legends as Mike Tyson and Conor McGregor – this is such an honour,” he remarked.
“I have known Parimatch as a responsible company that is truly immersed in esports and makes a significant contribution – both in technology and in entertainment.
“And, being grateful to esports for a lot, I want to make my contribution not only at the arena – so, together with Parimatch, we’ll boost esports in Brazil. Let’s try distracting them a little from football!”
Parimatch has an established position in the world of esports, having served as the global betting partner of popular team Fnatic and the title partner of Virtus.pro.
In 2019, the company became the official partner of Logitech G National Cybertsport League – the largest Counter-Strike competition in Ukraine – as well as the EPICENTER CS:GO tournament.
The firm commits a significant proportion of its R&D resources to the development of esports features and has recently become the first betting operator to establish its own major Dota2 competition, the ‘Parimatch League,’ followed by a second online league tailored specifically for CS:GO teams.
Outside of esports the brand has partnerships with professional football clubs Everton, Leicester City and Juventus, Spain’s LaLiga tournament and MMA fighter Conor McGregor, as well as being the official betting partner of the UFC in the CIS region.
