Parimatch has announced Luís Fabiano, former striker for São Paulo and the Brazilian National Team, as its latest brand ambassador.
He now joins racing driver Dudu Barrichello and comedian Mauricio Meirelles as part of the operator’s team of ambassadors. Parimatch is already known for its master sponsorship of Botafogo and Stock Car, Brazil’s premier motorsports competition.
The decision aims to reinforce the brand’s connection with the Brazilian public, and strengthen its position in the country’s sports betting market.
Fabiano said: “I am very happy to join Parimatch as a new ambassador. The partnership is a perfect match, as both the brand and I share a commitment to pushing boundaries and achieving excellence.”
The former footballer and current commentator for ESPN and StarPlus is the third highest scorer in São Paulo’s history, with 233 goals scored in his two spells.
“Throughout my career, I have always sought to connect with fans and inspire the next generation of athletes. I believe that Parimatch, with its global reach and dedication to supporting the sport, will help strengthen this connection. Together, we aim to create exciting opportunities and engage fans in new and innovative ways.”
The brand also described Luís Fabiano as still being an idol at Sevilla, and the fifth highest scorer in the European club’s history, with 127 goals.
For the Brazilian national team, he played 45 games and scored 28 goals, having played in the 2004 Copa América and the 2010 World Cup.
Parimatch Group also announced this week that its Co-Founder, Kateryna Biloruska, is to sell her controlling stake in the company to fellow Co-Owner Sergey Portnov.
This was shared with SBC News by a source close to the transaction. No additional information was provided on the size of the transaction, but the source highlighted that Portnov will now become the owner of Parimatch Group after also buying out some minority shareholders.
