OlyBet has been named the official partner of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) for WSOP Tallinn.
The Olympic Entertainment Group (OEG) sports betting brand links with the competition as it makes its Northern European debut – with poker players getting set to compete at the Olympic Park Casino and Hilton Hotel from 14-23 September.
Olympic Entertainment Group CEO, Corey Plummer, said: “We are already hosting the largest poker festival in Northern Europe with the Kings of Tallinn, and we expect to go further with the excitement and thrills of having this WSOP Circuit event with the 12 rings and €1m guaranteed main event.”
The series will be conducted in collaboration with WSOP, GGPoker, and now also OlyBet Group.
Similarly, DraftKings also inked a WSOP sponsorship deal in early 2015, but later that year the betting company came under pressure over legalisation questions and therefore cut ties with the poker tournament series.
On Olybet’s deal, WSOP VP, Gregory Chochon, added: “That growth is continuing into Northern Europe and we are delighted to partner with OlyBet to bring the excitement and passion of the WSOP Circuit Series to Estonia for the first time in circuit history.”
Last week, Olybet announced that it had officially become a member of the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA).
The operator joined nearly 50 companies and over 120 sports betting brands in the association.
“Together with other responsible and regulated betting operators and through a trusted and professional party such as IBIA we can take further steps to protect sports and sports betting,” Plummer said at the time.
