Betsson finds ‘convenient solution’ for offline transactions with OKTO

Betsson Group has formed a partnership with Greek fintech company OKTO.

As one of the most prominent names in the Greek igaming space, the Sweden-based multinational betting operator will integrate the OKTO.CASH cash-to-digital payment method.

Betsson will leverage OKTO.CASH’s network of over 13,000 points of sale across Greece, with the solution designed to meet local market requirements and provide ‘a convenient solution’ for online users with a preference for offline transactions.

Andreas Nikolopoulos, Head of Marketing Greece of Betsson Group, stated: “OKTO delivers tailored payment methods that meet the unique needs of each market. The e-cash payment solution presented by OKTO promises Betsson customers in Greece a convenient and user-friendly top-up experience.

“Trust and integrity stand at the forefront of the relationship with OKTO. For Greece, the collaboration with OKTO originated from a shared commitment to providing an ideal solution for users who prefer offline transactions with cash while enjoying online experiences.

“By enabling users to instantly top up their online accounts in a fast, easy, and secure manner, Betsson enhances the overall customer experience. “

The agreement further strengthens OKTO’s links to the gaming sector both within Greece and throughout Europe, building on an active 2023 which saw partnerships in Italy and regulatory approval in Germany.

OKTO’s Commercial Director, Galina Bineva, remarked: “We are thrilled with our partnership with Betsson Group and fully aligned with our partner, having a commitment to a local and personalised approach.

“For us here at OKTO, it’s essential to highlight the importance of understanding customers’ payment preferences and providing payment methods tailored not only to regional needs but also to different audiences within the same region.”

Europe is not the only region on OKTO’s radar, however, with the company also focused on Latin America. In Brazil, where a regulatory framework for a national gaming market was approved last month by President Lula da Silva, OKTO has partnered with the Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming (IBJR).
