ParlayBay has appointed Fredrik Elmqvist to its Board of Directors, citing the new addition as an industry veteran who will play a key role in the firm’s growth strategy.
The sportsbook supplier expects Elmqvist’s extensive experience in the betting and igaming space to be highly beneficial to the firm as it pushes ahead with its commercial objectives.
Striving to be a leading provider of microbetting and quickfire games in live sports betting environments, ParlayBay stated that Elmqvist’s ‘vast network and strategic experience’ were key reasons for his addition to the board.
“ParlayBay is such an exciting opportunity,” Elmqvist remarked. “Reactions from both operators and the players to the sports betting product are very positive, so it was an easy decision to accept to chair ParlayBay and support them as much as I can in their venture.
“I have known both CEO and CFO for many many years so that made this decision process pretty easy. For what I have already seen ParlayBay has a truly inspiring can-do attitude which takes me back to the first couple of years with Yggdrasil.”
An igaming veteran, Elmqvist standing in the industry comes from his role as founder of games developer Yggdrasil Gaming, as well as a tenure at NetEnt where he held several management and leadership positions.
Joining ParlayBay during the global sports betting event of the FIFA World Cup, the new board member begins his tenure towards the end of a highly active year for the company.
The firm has signed partnerships with a range of sportsbook clients throughout the year, most recently 7bet, which became the first operator to incorporate its real-money gaming suite last month.
