
Paddy Power has announced the appointment of Amsterdam brand agency WE ARE Pi as its new “Brand Mischief” agency.
The appointment of WE ARE PI was confirmed by new Chief Marketing Officer Gav Thompson, and has seen the release of Paddy Power’s new Rugby World Cup 2015 campaign “Big Game Hunter”, which parodies the controversial killing of Cecil the Lion by Minnesota dentist Dr Walter Palmer.
Speaking to UK media news sources, Gav Thompson stated that Paddy Power were “very excited” with the appointment of WE ARE PI, further describing the agency as “our kind of agency; creative, restless and non-conformists”.
WE ARE Pi Partner, Paddy Garvey, said working with Paddy Power would ensure the agency’s creativity did not run dry by “falling into a repeating pattern”. He added that the partnership gave it the opportunity to “let off some steam and cause some trouble. In this case we are targeting the bad guys, and hope to spark change by making noise.”
WE ARE Pi has worked on international brand campaign for Wrangler Jeans, Coca Cola, Lego and Under Armour sports.
