Paddy Power launches opening football 2015/2016 campaign with Lucky Generals

PaddypowerPaddy Power has launched its first 2015/2016 Premier League football campaign promoting its “Bet £20 Get £10” season kick-off promotion.

The 30 second campaign titled Paddy Power – “So Generous it Hurts”, was filmed outside Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium, and depicts football fans being sprayed with gifts and offers from a Paddy Power 26 barrel chain gun.

The opening Premier League campaign for season 2015/2016 marks Paddy Power’s return under the management of creative agency Lucky Generals. A move called by new CMO Gav Thompson   in June to reinstate the agency following just three months of service under Beattie McGuiness Bungay (BMB)

Speaking to UK marketing news source The Drum Gav Thompson commented on the campaign

“The Paddy Power brand has always been about two things – being as generous as we can with our customers, and behaving in a mischievous way. With our new campaign we plan to unite these two attributes.

“Our first ad with our new agency partners, Lucky Generals, celebrates the start of the footie season with a typical show of outrageous generosity. There will be plenty more where this came from.”

Helen Calcraft, a founder of Lucky Generals, added: “We’re delighted with our first major work for Paddy Power since being appointed to the full account.

“This is just the start and we’re looking forward to expressing Paddy Power generosity in increasingly colourful and entertaining ways.”
