Leading CIS markets betting group Parimatch Tech will headline the ‘Ukraine Pavilion’ at Web Summit 2021 (1-4 November, Lisbon), the world’s biggest tech start-up, venture capital and innovation conference.
The pavilion has been organised to promote opportunities within Ukraine’s fast-growth tech scene which maintains over 5,000 IT companies and a talented workforce employing over 250,000 software developers.
The Web Summit showcase has been backed by Ukraine’s Startup Fund, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Ukraine in Portugal.
Dmytro Senik, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Chief Digital Transformation Officer, stated: “Ukrainians are known worldwide for their IT skills and creativity. As the government is introducing a special legal framework for IT companies — Diia City — we expect further development of Ukraine as a European hub for innovation and R&D.
“Ukraine’s participation in Web Summit 2021 became possible thanks to the joint efforts of the Ukrainian government and the private sector.”
Recognised as a ‘Kyiv Unicorn’ (+ €1 bn valuation), Parimatch will be amongst a diverse contingent of Ukraine tech enterprises showcased at the Web Summit pavilion. The firm will be joined by Ital Future, Kyivstar, Parimatch Tech, Rocket, Fondy, Avenga, ISSP, Concord Fintech Solutions and UNIT.City.
Parimatch Co-CEO Maksym Liashko stated that its Web Summit representation was a just reward for a company that serves as one of Ukraine’s largest tech employers and has undertaken significant investment to develop local tech and engineering resources.
