New Zealand Cricket appoints Stats Perform to revitalise data capacity

Stats Perform has continued its strong commercial momentum by confirming that it has become lead data distributor and AI innovations partner for New Zealand Cricket (NZC).

Under the agreement, Stats Perform’s analytics unit Opta will lead NZC data collection and insights, revitalising syndicated NZC match data for commercial and integrity purposes, and providing a greater depth of match insights and information for stakeholders.

Stats Perform will be charged with distributing NZC’s new high-performance data feeds to broadcast, media, fantasy and betting operators, including NZC’s official digital and social media platforms.

In addition, NZC matches will be added to Stats Perform’s Watch&Bet live streaming platform expanding live cricket coverage for licensed bookmakers.

“We are thrilled to have renewed our partnership with New Zealand Cricket,” said Stats Perform Chief Rights Officer Alex Rice. “We look forward to continuing to provide extensive coverage for all of the premier Cricket New Zealand matches and supporting the production of live streams from previously un-broadcast competitions.”

The partnership will cover all NZC international matches and domestic fixtures across all cricket formats, including New Zealand’s Ford Trophy, Plunket Shield, and Super Smash men’s and women’s T20 competitions.

Securing terms with NZC, Stats Perform has gained professional cricket’s highest data coverage. It also serves as the official data partner for ECB, Cricket Australia, Cricket South Africa and the ICC.

Rice concluded: “Through our new agreement, Stats Perform data and video will be used to maximise significant opportunities for global engagement and improve the way it is experienced and understood by fans. We look forward to providing an expanded premium in-play gaming experience, improved data insights and providing more content for sponsors.”
