Christmas came early for one BetVictor customer after he used the Cash Out feature on a 7-fold accumulator and won just shy of £40,000 from a bet of 20 pence.
What is more is that the game on which he chose to cash out would have lost the bet, with Villa going on to lose to Newcastle.
The punter is in his 30s but wishes to remain anonymous. BetVictor spokesperson Charlie McCann said: “The lucky punter certainly had Saturday’s3pm kick-offs shot to pieces successfully predicting Palace to win 2-1 at Stoke, Norwich to win at Man United, Bournemouth to win 2-1 at West Brom, Leicester to win & Both Teams To Score at Goodison, Spurs to win 2-0 at St Mary’s, and over 2.5 goals in the Chelsea vs. Sunderland game.”
He added: “Those selections were brilliant, but the decision to Cash Out our offer of nearly £40k ahead of Villa’s trip to St James’s Park was inspired, as the Midlands club never looked like taking all three points against Newcastle. What a Christmas present; £40,000 from a 20p losing bet!”
