Cyprus’ NRC rolls out BoscaSports betting displays in RMG deal

Racecourse Media Group (RMG) has partnered with Cypriot betting brand Nicosia Race Club (NRC) to integrate BoscaSports’ betting display platform across the operator’s retail estate.

The digital screens will be used to distribute RMG’s ‘premium’ racing content to NRC’s customers in Cyprus, covering meetings from prominent UK racecourses such as Epson, Newmarket, York and Goodwood via the Racing TVi service.

George Hadjiminas, General Manager of Nicosia Race Club, said: “British and Irish horse racing is well established in Cyprus and therefore popular with our customers.

“We are delighted to work with RMG and BoscaSports to deploy the new digital screens in our betting outlets and racecourse. We expect the new screens to be well received by our customers.”

NRC, which is a longstanding partner of RMG, will replace its analogue systems with BoscaSports offering, aiming to provide ‘more engaging content’ to its retail customers.

Meanwhile, for BoscaSports, the agreement marks a continuation of its investment in global markets, having built up a presence in the UK and Ireland to provide its digital display platform to 85 of the two nations’ combined 86 racetracks.

The display product – which has also been leveraged by prominent UK and Ireland operators such as Paddy Power – automates the schedule of racing and pulls content and pricing on all RacingTVi broadcast races throughout the day.

Eugene Mitchell, CEO of BoscaSports, added: “It is fantastic to agree this deal with George and his team. This is the first full market roll-out for the BoscaSports platform, and we are delighted it is a country with such a rich tradition of horseracing.”

The partnership follows the publication of RMG’s latest figures, showing that the firm generated revenue of over £117.6m to UK and Ireland racecourses via its media and data rights deals with bookmakers, including retail licenced betting operators (LBOs).

Ian Houghton, RMG International Director, commented: “Both Nicosia Race Club and BoscaSports are great partners to work with. RMG are delighted to play its part in delivering state-of-the-art digital screens to Cyprus and we are hopeful that the additional data supplied, along with the modern presentation, means that the wagering customer will be much better informed.”
