Racecourse Media Group (RMG) has announced that RaceiQ metrics have been made available for free to view on www.racingtv.com and Racing TV Apps.
Described as ‘revolutionary data’ which offers new tools and insights into how horse racing is accessed, the metrics are available for all British and Irish races.
The company hopes that the platform will become a valuable tool for fans and punters, particularly ahead of Cheltenham Festival next week, one of the biggest events in the sport’s calendar.
Ed Gretton, Director of Racing at RMG, commented: “We couldn’t be more pleased with the reaction to RaceiQ, which has really captured the imagination and quickly gained the trust and full confidence of industry professionals.”
In detail, metrics include; Finishing speed percentage (FSP), Time Index, Par Time, Par Sectionals, Par FSP, 0-20mph, Lengths Gained Jumping (LGJ) and Jump Index.
“Racing TV’s website and mobile and tablet Apps are the only place to see all British and Irish sectionals, as well as the full suite of RaceiQ metrics,” Gretton added. “It’s all free to access and will revolutionise how we approach the sport.”
RaceiQ, which officially launched last year, will now be available for Racing TV users to see how horses fare compared against the various metrics outlined above.
This underlying tracking data is provided by Coursetrack for RMG and Irish racecourses, and also from TPD in respect of other UK racecourses.
RaceiQ was originally created from a partnership between Ellipse and RMG – which represents media interests of 37 racecourses.
“We have been delighted with the way in which both pundits and punters have adopted RaceiQ,” added Roderick Grafton, MD of Horse Racing at Ellipse.
“The Ellipse Data Scientists and Engineers have used their expertise and learnings from other sports to generate compelling cutting-edge metrics, providing new angles and narratives in every race. We are very excited that, via RacingTV.com and its Apps, all horse racing fans will now have access to the full suite of RaceiQ metrics.”
Also ahead of Chelenham Festival is the launch of a new system for dynamic bets through a partnership between RMG and Playtech Sports.
The system will allow players to place their bets as the races occur in real time. In-play betting will be available in almost 16,000 Self Service Betting Terminals (SSBTs) across Britain and Ireland.
