Racing broadcast specialist RMG has announced that its online and retail customers in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean, will have access to live pictures and the opportunity to wager into official pools on races at Meydan Racecourse after having secured exclusive rights to offer races at the Dubai World Cup Carnival
The broadcast agreement, which lasts until the end of March 2016 includes all Carnival meetings and culminates in the running of the world’s richest horserace, the Dubai World Cup on Saturday, 26 March.
RMG, the holding company responsible for a range of media rights and management businesses involving 34 racecourses in the UK, will be offering racing from Dubai for the first time to customers in the region and access to the official pools, hosted by Isle of Man-based Premier Gateway International (PGI).
Richard FitzGerald, CEO of RMG said, “This is a very exciting development for RMG and further strengthens our relationship with the ERA, Meydan and Dubai Racing Club. We were awarded the contract to produce the output from Meydan Racecourse in November last year and with our considerable experience in the sports media rights market, it seemed a natural next step to market the pictures to new customers on behalf of Dubai Racing Club.
‘We are delighted to be working with PGI and together look forward to enhancing global interest in some of the most exciting racing in the world.”
Sam Nati COO of PGI added, “This is an exciting development for PGI in terms of our relationship with both the Dubai Racing Club and RMG, and we are looking forward to welcoming RMG’s clients into the betting pools for the Dubai racing season.”
