Sports Betting Community (SBC), the media and events group which focuses on the betting industry, has broadened its expertise with the recruitment of two new advisors ahead of the Betting on Sports Conference – the company’s latest two-day event in September.
Bookmaker Graham Martin and lawyer Quirino Mancini have joined the advisory board for the group’s events division, SBC Events, and are already helping form the direction of Betting on Sports, the company’s latest conference and expo, which is being held on 15-16 September at the Grange Tower Bridge in London.
Graham Martin is a third generation bookmaker who originated the first offshore gaming law in Alderney, formed Bonne Terre Limited (which later evolved into SkyBet), formerly the Chairman of Probability Games Corporation, founder and past CEO of Scotbet International, advisory board member of Cashbet Limited, main board director of Empire Global Corp, Soccer Data Bet, and, amongst other entities, Chairman of the Australian Cardinal House Group Pty Ltd.
Quirino Mancini is a partner at Tonucci, a top ten Italian general practice firm with offices in Rome, Milan, Brescia, Padua and Florence. Mancini has vast experience in the sports, entertainment, media, and e-commerce fields and has a specialist practice in national/EU gaming & gambling law. He is a member of the advisory board of the International Research for Gambling and Gaming of Bonn, Germany. He is the Secretary of the International Masters of Gaming Law and a member of its Leadership Committee.
SBC founder Rasmus Sojmark is pleased at being able to attract the considerable expertise of both advisors to the group. He explained: “Graham has enjoyed a hugely successful career in the betting industry, where his entrepreneurial spirit has pushed the sector forward. Quirino is a tenacious lawyer, with a comprehensive grasp on the legal and commercial pressures of the industry across Europe and an extensive network. SBC is delighted to be working with both of them to further improve the well-received events we have been putting on for the betting trade.”
>Graham Martin commented: “I have been hugely impressed at the progress of SBC and the extent of its output over the past few years and delighted to come on board to provide another perspective for Betting on Sports. “The betting industry is more complicated and finely nuanced than the other gambling sectors and as such deserves more expert focus in this way. The C-Level Evening Event which is part of Betting on Sports should ensure we have some of the sharpest minds in the audience to address this.”
Quirino Mancini added: “Rasmus and his team have done a great job in launching Betting on Football and now Betting on Sports and it is down to the bookmakers to help make this work. This is why I’m very excited to be involved with SBC Events at this stage of its development.”
Sports Betting Community (SBC) is an organisation dedicated to raising the profile and coverage of gambling operators, software suppliers, affiliates, service agencies and media portals in the online gaming market.
SBCEVENTS started organising events for the sports betting industry in 2009. Today there are a number of yearly events, including Betting on Football (#BOFCON Emirates Stadium/Stamford Bridge), the newly rebranded SBC Awards (last event at Playboy Club in London), along with the London Baby networking event at Cafe de Paris in London.
