International operators and speakers give Betting on Sports 2019 a global outlook

Betting on Sports 2019 will reflect the sports betting and igaming sector’s rapid global expansion, with senior representatives of 160 operators from around the world among the 3,500 delegates travelling from 60 countries to attend.

The establishment of an increasing number of regulated online gambling markets has created enticing international opportunities for both operators and suppliers, and as the biggest global event for the industry, Betting on Sports has put together a relevant, engaging and educational content offering that focuses on this growth.

The greatly expanded conference programme for the event, which takes place at Olympia London from 17-20 September, features 300 expert speakers drawn from emerging markets in Latin America, Asia, Africa and the CIS, the high-growth US sector and established European markets.

Among the speakers offering insights on the potential of emerging markets are Jose Duarte (Betcris), Archil Kakhidze (Adjarabet.com), Tyrone Dobbin (Sportingbet Africa), Rune Loderup (Goldblue), Juan Rengifo (Suramérica Football Club), Tamara Babits (Parimatch) and Lasha Machavariani (Setanta Sports Media).

They are all taking part in the Emerging Markets track, which includes sessions on regulation in Latin America, opportunities in the CIS region, how operators can enter markets in Africa, the development of legalised sports betting in Asia and fantasy sports in India.

Meanwhile, a strong selection of North American speakers will participate in multiple conference tracks, including Jason Robins (DraftKings), Paris Smith (Pinnacle), Jennifer Roberts (International Center for Gaming Regulation, UNLV), Kresimir Spajic (Hard Rock International) and Nik Bonaddio (FanDuel Group).

There is also a full-day USA in Focus track, which comprises seven sessions covering issues such as regulation, opportunities for EU-based operators and trading on the Big Four sports.

The European sports betting sector is well represented on the speaker line-up, with Steen Madsen (Nederlandse Loterij), Jesper Svensson (Betsson), Mikel Lopez de Torre (Sportium), Carmelo Mazza (Betaland) and Dominik Beier (Interwetten) all taking part.

The European Markets conference track takes an in-depth look at the opportunities offered and difficulties posed by recent and planned regulatory changes in Spain, Ireland, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, the Nordic region and Eastern Europe.
