Betfred ‘revolutionising’ retail sports betting in Central Maryland opening

Betfred has opened a new US retail sportsbook at Long Shot’s in the Capital Region of Central Maryland

The British bookmaker has detailed that its betting amenities and the new location include 12 self-service kiosks, with a selection of beers on tap for bettors to choose from whilst betting on sports.

Aiming to ‘revolutionise’ the retail sports betting scene in Maryland, the sportsbook stands at 6,300 square feet, and has 157 seats, and an 80-panel television wall.

Kresimir Spajic, CEO of Betfred USA, emphasised the significance of this service, stating: “Our commitment to enhancing the sports betting experience remains unwavering.

“The effortless integration of cash deposits and withdrawals exemplifies our dedication to providing customers in Frederick and all of Maryland with a top-tier betting experience.”

The Betfred Sportsbooks aim to allow players to seamlessly integrate their retail and online betting experiences. Players can place cash bets at the betting counter but can also deposit or withdraw funds directly into and from their Betfred online accounts.

Long Shot’s is based in Frederick County, Maryland and is a 100% female-owned business and will be the first such business to host a sportsbook in Maryland.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Betfred and introduce this state-of-the-art sportsbook to the Capital Region. It’s a terrific addition to the outstanding Long Shot’s experience,” added Alyse Cohen, CEO of Long Shot.

Earlier this year, Betfred received a further boost to its stateside operations, partnering with International Gaming Technology (IGT) to support its Nevada operation.

In a deal which also enhanced IGT’s operations in sports betting, Betfred USA Sports now leverages the group’s PlaySports solutions for retail and mobile wagering at its Mohegan Sun Sportsbook venue.
