Stats Perform has confirmed that it has secured the official rights to collect and distribute match data for English and Scottish professional football leagues, sanctioned by Football DataCo.
The data agreement will cover over 6,000 matches per season, including the English Premier League, EFL Championship and all Scottish Premier League (SPL) games.
Further deal provisions will allow Stats Perform to supply Football DataCo data and statistics to broadcasters, media and entertainment organisations.
The partnership sees Stats Perform deepen its football data portfolio, in which it will be allowed to supply Football DataCo’s official ‘player tracking data’, AI-powered ‘insight data’ provisions for broadcasters and further ‘player market data’ for fantasy sports and bookmakers.
Stats Perform Chief Rights Officer Alex Rice commented on the partnership: “Millions of English and Scottish football fans and bettors have enjoyed trusted media, broadcast, fantasy and betting experiences powered by Stats Perform’s opta data for the past seven years.”
“We are honoured that our investment in collecting and distributing the fastest, most accurate detailed event data with the utmost professionalism has again been recognised by Football Dataco.”
Further to its data arrangement, Stats Perform detailed that it will collaborate with the development of FootballDataCo’s new AI-driven ‘FDC Data Labs’ – its new innovation studio formed with sports data collection experts Second Spectrum to bring new viewer experiences to life.
A key directive for FootballDataCo, FDC Data Labs seeks to revolutionise all components of football viewership and audience engagement by optimising data collection for all key business verticals – media, broadcasters, entertainment and sports betting.
“Extending our partnership with Stats Perform was an obvious choice,” said Adrian Ford, FDC General Manager.
“The opta data brand is strong and the business has a deep understanding of football, vital factors for our Leagues who want the best and most trusted data. Stats Perform will build on these strong foundations and continue to drive innovation through our FDC Labs partnership, using data to tell new stories for fans who have an appetite for greater insight into the beautiful game.”
