Paddy Power have the become the first sports betting operator to add voice controlled navigation to their sports betting app.

The function, which will, at least initially, be exclusive to Paddy Power, has been delivered by the winners of this years Mobile Marketing Barca Starta competition, Capita Systems. This represents their first major client arrangement.

Using the app customers will now be able to speak their bets such as ‘£5 on Suarez to bite player on his comeback’. As well as this you’ll be able to access odds, tips and rate the app with your hands tied behind your back.

Paddy Power’s other latest updates included a live news blog, loyalty offers and group tables. The bookmaker was keen to point out however that the app is not branded ‘World Cup’. “Paddy Power’s football app is for the World Cup but isn’t allowed to contain the words ‘world’ and ‘cup’ in the title? (FIFA, the not-for-profit organisation, will use is for large sums of money if we do),” said a spokesperson on their behalf.

The Director of Capito Systems, Tony Ballardie, spoke to Mobile Marketing Magazine; “Launching with someone as big as Paddy Power is obviously a massive boost for us and very exciting.” He also added that whilst the company is primarily focussing on sportsbook operators with the aim of helping them to simplify the betting process, it is a function which can be added to any app.
