Betsson has announced that it has officially launched in Italy with its sports betting offering.
Described as a ‘strategic move’, the Swedish operator looks to further demonstrate its expansion into new markets which has accelerated across multiple different regions.
Ronni Hartvig, Chief Commercial Officer of Betsson Group, described how the country has grown significantly in importance for the Betsson AB-owned brand.
He said: “We believe this is an opportune moment to introduce our flagship brand, Betsson, to the market. By consolidating our operations under the unified Betsson brand, we aim to harness the power of scalability.
“And together with our extensive experience in the region, we aim to position the brand as a leading sports betting operator in the market.”
Meanwhile, the brand has recently experienced significant geographic expansion, particularly in Latin America, highlighted by notable sponsorships such as being the main sponsor of Argentine football clubs Boca Juniors and Racing Club, and most recently with Atlético Nacional in Colombia.
Having successfully operated in Italy for over a decade with its renowned StarCasinò brand, the Betsson Group reaffirms its dedication to the Italian market.
StarCasinò will continue to operate alongside its parent company. Notably, StarCasino.Sport in Italy is recognised for its support of various football clubs, including SSC Napoli, Torino FC, U.S. Sassuolo, FC Palermo, AS Roma, ACR Messina, S.S. Juve Stabia, and Italy’s Serie B.
