Swedish betting operator Betsson has announced that it is now the main sponsor of Colombian football club Atletico Nacional.
Strengthening the bookmaker’s footprint in Latin America, the new deal will see the company’s logo being placed on the front of the team’s men’s and women’s jerseys for the next three years.
Atletico Nacional was first established back in 1947, and has since managed to win 33 titles, including two Libertadores Cups.
A statement by the club on the new partnership read: “We welcome Betsson with open arms. A company with a global presence and expansion projects in Latin America that aligns with our goal to be a reference in international football. Together, we are sure that we will conquer great titles.”
The Colombian market has become a desirable destination for operators due to its refined regulatory framework, offering a multitude of opportunities for businesses looking to interact with regional sports.
Latin America as a whole is in the midst of significant developments for the betting industry, with Brazil in particular having recently made the next step towards launching a national betting market.
In Argentina, Betsson currently holds sponsorship deals with Boca Juniors and Racing de Avellaneda.
