Mozzart joins IBIA’s ‘constructive projects’ as latest member

The International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) has extended its geographic reach with the addition of Mozzart into its membership.

Based in Serbia, Mozzart is a retail and online betting and gaming group that has also had a South American presence since it acquired Meridianbet Colombia in 2020.

As an IBIA member, Mozzart will – alongside 50 other companies and 125 betting brands in the organisation’s ranks – feed into the association’s global bet monitoring efforts.

Khalid Ali, IBIA CEO, said: “I am delighted that Mozzart’s Serbian business has decided to join IBIA and to work collaboratively with our growing global roster of operators committed to protecting consumers, betting markets and sporting events from betting corruption.

“Mozzart’s scope of operation and market penetration will be of significant benefit for IBIA’s leading global betting integrity monitoring network. IBIA welcomes Mozzart’s commitment to sports betting integrity and looks forward to working with it.”

With betting stakeholders’ eyes firmly fixed on South American developments, driven chiefly by the forthcoming regulation of a federal betting market in Brazil, this has unsurprisingly also caught the IBIA’s attention.

The organisation’s activity in the region has seen Brazilian brand KTO join its ranks whilst it has also initiated monitoring of the growing Buenos Aires market. According to the group’s last quarterly report, South America accounted for the second largest number of integrity alerts in Q3 at seven, 14% of the total global number.

In an interview before the SBC Summit Latinoamerica, the IBIA’s Director of Public Affairs, Silvia Paleari, reiterated that South America has become a ‘much more important region’ for the association in recent years, driven by regulatory changes in Brazil, Chile and Peru.

South America is, of course, not the only region to have seen an uptick in activity of late, with Mozzart’s home market of southeastern Europe also gaining attention as a key growth area, as discussed at the SBC Summit Barcelona earlier this year.

Slobodan Prodanović, CEO of Mozzart, commented on the group’s IBIA membership:: “We are honoured to become part of a renowned global organisation like IBIA and we are sure that our partnership will give rise to many constructive projects in the field of protecting the integrity of the sports betting industry.

“As a leader in the organisation of games of chance in Southeastern Europe, we will always strive to respect the highest business standards, strengthen the regulated market and create a safe and reliable environment for our users.”
