IBIA welcomes CopyBet commitment against global match-fixing

The International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) has welcomed CopyBet as its latest sports integrity member.

As with other IBIA operator members, CopyBet will feed integrity data from its online betting platform into IBIA’s global monitoring network, joining more than 80 companies operating over 140 sports betting brands with a total handle of $300bn per year.

Who is CopyBet?

CopyBet holds a licence from the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) and a Class B bookmaker license in Cyprus. As the name suggests, its offering allows customers to copy the bets of leading tipsters while also allowing for a more traditional sportsbook experience.

The firm has been working to enhance its brand visibility over recent years, including with sports sponsorships. This association with sports may have influenced the firm in deciding to take a more active role in sports integrity, particularly at a time when the relationship between sports and betting is facing pressure in the UK.

Currently, the company is the official front-of-shirt sponsor of EFL’s Queens Park Rangers FC, as well as the partner of a list of Cyprus First Division teams such as AEK Larnaca, PΑC Omonia 29M, Enosis Neon Paralimni, and Aris Limassol.

On the latest collaboration with the IBIA, Anton Ivanov, Business Development Director at CopyBet UK, said: “Responsible gambling, and looking after our customers, is part of our core values at CopyBet, and joining the International Betting Integrity Association will enable us to continue providing safe gambling conditions for our players.

“We look forward to working with IBIA and supporting its mission of protecting the integrity of the industry.”

IBIA against corruption in global sports

The IBIA will ensure that CopyBet becomes a fully fledged advocate for sports betting integrity, proactively engaging with efforts against corruption and match-fixing in regulated betting markets.

Most recently, the monitoring body reported a total of 63 suspicious betting cases throughout Q1, with football and tennis accounting for the largest number of alerts.

Welcoming CopyBet to the international fight against sports manipulation, Khalid Ali, CEO of IBIA, added: “IBIA is pleased to welcome Copybet as our newest member to our growing association.

“This partnership strengthens our global monitoring network and reinforces our shared commitment to protecting the integrity of sport and regulated betting markets. We look forward to working closely with CopyBet to detect and deter betting-related corruption and to protect the integrity of the markets offered to consumers.”
