Checkd relaunches FlashPicks for North American rollout

Checkd Group has made a move to strengthen its profile and operations across North America via a relaunch of its FlashPicks sports betting app.

The Manchester-based business’ Checkd Dev development division based design and production of FlashPicks on the existing Betting Hub, which has found success in its home market of the UK.

Targeting the ‘relatively untapped’ North American casual sports betting market, Checkd has included pre-match odds from ‘the most high-profile’ sportsbooks in the continent. This includes prices from bet365, FanDuel, DraftKings, Caesars, PointsBet and BetMGM.

Adam Patton, Checkd Dev MD, said: “FlashPicks has been a big success for us and the logical next step in its journey was to create an app in the style of the award-winning Betting Hub in the UK, so that we can tap into the vast potential of the casual sports betting market in North America. 

“The FlashPicks app provides users with all the information they need to make knowledgeable, informed selections and with a host of leading operators on board we believe it will in time have a major impact on the overall sports betting ecosystem.”

Another UK feature Checkd is translating across the Atlantic is the Smart Acca technology, which utilises historical statistics and betting data to show which teams are performing well.

The company states that this has proven popular with its UK audience by informing betting decisions. Features include moneyline, spread and total markets, whilst Checkd plans to incorporate player prop markets in the future.

Checkd’s launch of the FlashPicks app comes after over 900,000 unique visitors, 2.5 million sessions and 10 million organic social media impressions have been logged in the 14 months since the brand’s entry to market.

FlashPicks made its debut in Ontario, Canada’s most populous province, in September 2022 after securing a licence from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). This also coincided with the appointment of Callum Broxton as Group Head of US Operations.

On the app launch, Broxton remarked: “We are making great progress across North America, which contains a fast-growing sports betting market that we consider to be very important strategically. 

“Following the launch of the FlashPicks brand last year, we have seen its profile increase month by month and that will only continue as more states and provinces adopt regulation. The launch of the FlashPicks app is a major landmark for us and it’s a development we are all very excited about.”
