Betano has revealed that it will be holding the naming rights for the Copa do Brasil until 2025.
Whilst the deal was announced by local news outlet Maquina do Esporte, the bookmaker was aided by Brax in its decision – the agency that holds the commercial rights of the championship for the next three years.
The Kaizen Gaming-owned company is the second gambling company to sponsor this competition. Curaçao-registered brand Betnacional will also sponsor the tournament, but with a smaller exposure.
The agency has already sold advertising signs for the Brazilian Championship Series B, also having an agreement with multiple clubs on a national scale.
According to the report, having several brands in the same sponsorship segment is one of the initiatives that Brax will implement from now on, since before there was only one space available.
Last month, Betano formed a partnership with FIFA to become the first official betting partner of the World Cup.
Described as a major milestone in its commercial history, the company was selected by the football governing body to ‘engage and excite’ football fans around the world during the current Qatar-based tournament.
Kaizen Gaming has further sponsorships in football through the two brands it operates, Betano and Stoiximan.
Such include Fluminense and Atlético Mineiro in Brazil; Club Universidad de Chile and CD La Serena in Chile; FCSB and Universitatea Craiova in Romania; Olympiacos and PAOK FC in Greece, and FC Porto, Sporting CP and SL Benfica in Portugal.
