BETER expands transparency and integrity efforts across live events

Betting and gaming solutions supplier BETER has extended the scope of its integrity and transparency operations covering its live events.

Strengthening of such measures will cover the Setka Cup and ESportsBattle tournaments, with the company’s policies developed in line with the standards of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and other international sports bodies.

“The utmost reliability of tournaments and principles of fair play are core tenets of our business,” said BETER Chief Integrity Officer, Andrii Nekrutov, who played a key role in developing the measures.

“To this end, we are constantly refining our integrity policy to ensure the safety of our community of sportspeople, employees and clients.”

In order to enhance its integrity and safeguarding efforts, BETER has identified four ‘main directions’ it will follow, beginning with working to identify any suspicious behaviour via a 24/7 fraud detection service and integrity operation centre.

Secondly, the firm aims to improve its integrity awareness campaign, including e-learning, training, a whistleblowing platform and pre-employment personnel and tournament participant checks, and establishment of an Ethics Committee to promote high integrity standards and work with sports federations.

Intelligence-led investigations will also be conducted should any suspicious behaviour be identified, with integer-related intelligence tracked by an Integrity Incident Database along with law enforcement and judicial authorities.

Lastly, the supplier has updated its agenda to comply with sports integrity laws in each country where it maintains a presence, with regular reviews of existing regulatory environments conducted in line with international sports practices.

Nekrutov continued: “We see the integration of our new procedures and systems as another layer of integrity on behalf of our operator partners – ensuring they can have absolute confidence in the transparency of all live events provided by BETER.

“In-house IT solutions and the chatbot ensure the safety of tournament participants and allow for confidential reporting of any suspicious activity.”

The updates to its integrity efforts come as BETER looks to further expand its business in 2022, with its BETER Live casino product having been launched at the end of 2021 whilst its efootball offering was boosted in January following a deal with Esports Content Factory (ECF).
