Betway has returned to tennis sponsorships becoming the principal betting partner of the Miami Open an ATP and WTA 1000 sanctioned tournament.
Beginning this week, the Miami Open (22 March to 4 April) sees the biggest names on the ATP (men’s) and WTA (women) tours compete as pro-tennis 2021 season plays its first ‘Masters event’.
Betway the former championship sponsor of tennis’ prestige Davis Cup, will see its brand return to courtside at the Miami Garden’s Hard Rock Stadium.
Following a three-year blackout, the ATP Tour lifted its betting sponsorship ban agreeing to a new tournament sponsorship framework sanctioned by the ITF as global tennis’ governing body.
In its sponsorship statement, Betway underlined that its return to ATP and WT tennis would ‘shine a light on the brand’s ever-growing commitment to sponsorship of the biggest sporting events’.
Anthony Werkman, Betway CEO, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be announcing our sports betting partnership with the Miami Open.
“As a globally recognised brand, we’re excited to be involved with one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world, which plays host to some huge names in the sport.”
