Pool betting app supplier Low6 hopes to boost engagement with millennial punters through the launch of its PDC Picks for the PDC Low6 Home Tour Playoffs.
The app, which will be powered using data from Abelson Info, will give users the opportunity to watch and engage with their favourite darts players throughout the tournament.
Josh Turk, CMO of Low6 and creator of PDC Picks, explained: “Low6 captures the millennial audience with it’s highly engaging “Picks” product, simplistic gameplay, mobile gamification, live leaderboard, low stakes and extremely visual UI/UD design.
“Unlike traditional sports betting sites, there are no odds presented to the user. Alternatively, each contest offers a series of “picks” questions, where users “pick” which team they think will win the match, which player will score most 180’s or earn the highest checkout. You don’t have to predict a perfect bet slip to win, you just have to predict more answers correctly than your mates.”
Adam Perfect, PDC Head of Commercial, added: “The introduction of the exciting new PDC Picks has been a great addition for our fans and helped to provide another way for them to enjoy the darts action whilst watching from home.
“It was perfect timing for us to launch this alongside our innovative Home Tour tournament, which has seen the best players in the world compete against each other from their own homes, and PDC Picks has allowed fans to be a part of the action directly from their own sofas!”
The Low6 Home Tour Playoffs allows fans to watch elite level darts from the comfort of their own homes via live streams. 32 PDC Tour card holders face-off in a 11-night tournament, with the Low6 Playoff Trophy presented to the winner on 5 June.
Turk continued: “With the successful launch of PDC Picks, interest has grown exponentially with other professional leagues and teams seeking a bespoke branded app to engage with their fanbase.
“Low6’s B2B network platform is an ideal turn-key solution for sports teams, leagues, media groups and bookmakers that allow seamless integration of “Picks” into existing apps or sites, providing shared liquidity within the Low6 network.
“Low6 have some exciting partnerships with UK football clubs and other sports clubs to rollout in the upcoming months, offering fans from each club the ability to participate in network contests with combined prize pools with combined fans from all our partners.”
