GiG adds virtuals as part of 1X2 Network deal

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has confirmed the launch of virtual sports betting as part of a partnership with 1X2 Network which will further extend its sportsbook solution and offering to operators.

GiG’s new virtual portfolio includes instant horse racing, greyhound racing, trotting, Velodrome, speedway and football, as well as scheduled horse racing and tennis.

Chris Armes, chief information officer at GiG, commented on its latest partnership: “Partnering with 1X2 Network allows us to offer a quality virtual sports portfolio with realistic 3D games for some of the most popular on-demand sports betting games.

“This allows operators to increase their offering placing them at the forefront of sports betting.”

The new virtual offering will give operators the chance to offer players the opportunity to engage on-demand and connect with their favourite sports virtually in a similar way they would with live sports, subsequently increasing betting options.

Earlier this month, GiG confirmed that it intends to fully divest its entire B2C unit to Stockholm counterpart Betsson AB by mid-April.

Agreeing to the transaction, GiG will use the proceeds from its divestment to repay its SEK 300 million (€27m) corporate bond, strengthening the firm’s balance sheets.
