Sports betting supplier Wiseodds has confirmed the launch of its new ‘skill-based peer-to-peer platform’ which will combine the social element of online poker with sports betting.
The new platform allows punters to compete against one another in ‘poker-inspired rooms’ to predict the outcome of sporting events.
Lilit Nikoghosyan, Head of Operations at Wiseodds, said: “We’re delighted to announce the launch of the new Wiseodds peer-to-peer betting platform, providing players with a new way of betting on sporting events.
“This new and exciting product will take social gaming to a new level, where bettors use their sporting knowledge and battle against each other to secure big payouts.
“We’re strong believers that this poker-inspired concept and risk-free set up will prove to be an attractive proposition for operators looking to tap into the rising popularity of social betting.”
As part of the game, punters will ‘take a seat’ at one of the available tables in an online lobby by placing a bet on a fixture.
When every sporting match featured in the selected room comes to an end, all cards are revealed and the player with the highest winning odds coupon claims all the money on the table. Losing players are then removed from the table, allowing new users to join.
Players will have the opportunity to bet on a number of sporting markets, including ‘major football and basketball matches’.
Planning to expand the number of betting opportunities available in the coming months, punters can currently wager bets at four separate table choices, including over tables, under tables, bet poker tables and bet poker system.
Wiseodds has outlined plans to expand internationally, initially targeting expansion across Asia and Europe. The company is in the final stages of securing a B2B licence from the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA).
