Hornets take sting out of weekend results for bookmakers – AccaTracker Analysis

watfordfcWest Ham United’s unpredictable form this season allied to Manchester United’s wholly predictable recent troubles stopped bookmakers from experiencing an accumulator wipeout this weekend, according to data from AccaTracker, the app designed by Team FA to monitor users’ multiple bets.

Out of the top ten most selected matches on Saturday, eight went with the odds, including the main banker of Manchester City against Norwich (despite Joe Hart’s best efforts) with only Watford’s victory against the Hammers and third goalless draw in a row for the Red Devils, this time at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace, favouring the bookmakers.

The most eye catching result of the weekend was Liverpool’s 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge, but it appears that punters didn’t fancy this match at all, with the majority choosing not to include it in their accumulators.

Team FA Marketing Director Tim Pindar commented: “It was a strange weekend for accumulators with only Manchester City’s home match against Norwich standing out as a banker, and even they needed a late goal to secure a win there. On another week 8 out of the top 10 favourites coming in may have caused bookmakers a huge headache, but given the wide spread of matches chosen on the Saturday by our AccaTrackers users, an expensive weekend for them could have been much worse.”

“In fact three of our community bets, where we analyse people’s tips and present them to our users, were successful this weekend. A 24/1 long shot, 4/1 Treble and a 6/1 Double all came in, making it a great weekend for the AccaTracker community.”
