SIS (Sports Information Services) recently announced a partnership with Valparaíso Sporting Club in Viña del Mar, Chile.
Looking to reinforce its commitment to racing in the region, the operator became the sponsor of El Derby Day – an event which featured 25 races on the card with an attendance of over 150,000.
Michele Fischer, Vice President of SIS Content Services, said: “We are delighted to return to such a special Chilean event as a sponsor and support Valparaíso Sporting Club as it hosts a day packed with thrilling races and entertainment.”
The 140th instalment of El Derby is Chile’s premier Group One classic race and the third and final race of the country’s National Triple Crown, following the El Ensayo and Clásico St. Leger. A field of 16 horses will compete in this year’s edition.
“Our commitment to racing in Latin America is well-documented and it is a region that we remain focused on expanding in over the course of 2025 and beyond,” Fischer added.
Yesterday, (2 February), the 21st race before the Clásico El Derby featured the SIS name, bolstering the global betting service provider’s established partnership with the oldest track in Latin America which has operated for over a decade.
“El Derby brings together the very best of Chilean Racing and has done for more than 100 years. It unites the nation and fills our city with a festive atmosphere like no other,” added Hernán Robles, Commercial Manager at Valparaíso Sporting Club.
“SIS is a highly valued partner and sponsorship supports us carrying out a successful event. We are delighted to have them onboard once more.”
Moreover, SIS has just announced another LatAm-focused partnership, this time with Novibet to bring esports competitive gaming content to its betting portfolio.
Through the deal, Novibet’s customers in both LatAm and Europe will have the opportunity to bet on over 200,000 annual eSoccer and eBasketball games played by SIS’ H2H Global Gaming League which was designed specifically for sportsbooks.
