Aleš Veselý has been named as the new Chief Executive Officer of Sazka Group’s Czech division, taking over the role from Robert Chvátal.
In his new role, Veselý, who currently serves as the company’s Marketing Director, will take responsibility for operations in the Czech Republic.
Reported by Czech media outlets, Veselý said: “Over the last eight years, we have managed to build a modern entertainment company from a traditional lottery company.
“Thanks to innovation and online transformation, we can offer a wide portfolio of games that appeals to three quarters of the adult population in the Czech Republic.
“My main goal is for Sazka not only to maintain the set trend but above all to further develop its long-term strategy of an entertainment company.”
Meanwhile, Chvátal will continue to manage the umbrella company, Sazka Group, while also assuming the position of Sazka CZ Chairman.
“I am very pleased to continue to be a part of Czech Sazka’s strategic decisions as chairman of the board of directors,” Chvátal said. “At the same time, I am proud to be able to contribute to the growth of the Sazka Group in four other European countries.”
The reshuffle follows on from the news that Brent Hoberman CBE had become the latest business figurehead to join the ‘UK advisory board’ for SAZKA Group, where he will be tasjed with providing support and guidance to Sir Keith Mills’ bid team competing to win the Fourth National Lottery Licence.
Following his appointment, Hoberman – in an opinion piece for City AM – stated that any plans of ‘levelling up’ the UK by the government would require significant help from the National Lottery. However, if things are kept the same, he thinks the lottery will struggle to support the government’s agenda in a post-Covid world.
