Grosvenorsport sponsors Goodwood’s Bank Holiday ‘Celebration Mile’

Rank Group Plc has informed that its new sports betting division Grosvenorsport will sponsor this Saturday’s Celebration Mile at Goodwood Racecourse.

The Group Two ‘Grosvenor Sport Celebration Mile’ is considered the highlight of Goodwood’s three-day August Bank Holiday meeting.

The Celebration Mile has a prize pool of £100,000 and will include notable contenders’ winner Lightning Spear, Qatar Goodwood Festival victor Beat The Bank and French up and comer Taareef.

Alex Eade, General Manager of Goodwood Racecourse, commented on the agreement: “We are thrilled to welcome Grosvenorsport.com as sponsors of the Celebration Mile, which looks set to be a stellar renewal this year.

This August, Rank Group governance informed that it would increase marketing spend for its fast growth digital division.

Its Goodwood sponsorship comes follows on from Grosvenorcasinos.com last month becoming the main team partner for Championship side Fulham FC.

Steve Munns, Head of Grosvenor Sport, said: “We are really excited to be sponsoring the Grosvenor Sport Celebration Mile, which is always a great race at one of the most beautiful racecourses in the world. We make the progressive Beat The Bank and last year’s winner Lightning Spear 11/4 joint-favourites.

“This is our first horseracing sponsorship and we are certainly planning to extend our portfolio in the future. Horseracing is very important for us and we are committed to supporting British racing.”
