Blyth grandmother wins ‘Give the Gift’ competition on LeoVegas

Christmas came early for a grandmother of six from Blyth, Anna Owen, after she won the LeoVegasGive the Gift’ competition.

LeoVegas.com launched the competition in December, and encouraged people on social media to nominate an exceptional someone who deserved to be spoilt at Christmas.

Owen, who was entered by her son Ryan, won £500 cash, a brand-new iPhone 7, a luxurious Christmas hamper and a bag filled with goodies.

With some inspiring entrants, the judges had a hard time choosing one winner, but Owen stood out for her efforts in caring for her own mum and her sister, who has severe learning difficulties.

Her son, Ryan Owen, 28, said: ‘When I saw the competition, I thought of my mum immediately, and knew I had to nominate her. She’s the most caring person I know, and always thinks of her family before herself. This prize is from everyone, and I hope she spoils herself, even though I know she won’t. She really is a Super-mum!”

Shenaly Amin of LeoVegas.com, added: “We all know that one special person who consistently gives and gives, either for their family or for their community – asking for nothing in return. We launched our Give the Gift competition to recognise these heroes, and reward them with some much-deserved presents, to simply say thank you for everything they do.

“We couldn’t think of a more deserving winner than Anna; she’s the glue that helps to keep her family together, and is one of the most loving people you could hope to meet.”
