Pronet establishes Cameroon presence with Winnerbet partnership

Pronet Gaming has continued its African expansion strategy by establishing a foothold in the Cameroon betting market, following a partnership with Winnerbet.

The Cameroonian operator will migrate to Pronet’s platform, where it will integrate the supplier’s full range of solutions across both online and retail channels, in a bid ‘to move to the next level.’

“As a platform provider, it’s particularly pleasing when your work in pulling together a strong product portfolio is recognised by an operator looking to accelerate its commercial growth,” said Colin McDonagh, Chief Sales Officer at Pronet Gaming.

“It was clear from the outset that Winnerbet was keen to utilise our market-leading product offering across both retail and online and we are delighted to be working with an operator and brand that resonates so strongly for players in Cameroon.”

Winnerbet is one of the largest bookmakers in Cameroon and across Africa, operating over 300 retail outlets throughout the continent. The firm chose Pronet ‘due to its strong offering comprising products from a host of leading developers’.

“We are confident in our belief that migrating to Pronet Gaming’s platform will prove to be a winning move as we aim to cement our status as a forward-thinking operator,” remarked Winnerbet’s CEO.

“The sports market in Cameroon has fantastic growth potential and we can’t wait for our players to engage with such a high-quality and wide range of products.”

The announcement follows an agreement with Sahara Games in November 2020, which has seen Pronet supply the operator with its full omnichannel solution in Uganda, Nigeria and Kenya, comprising 35,000 live events per week.

Speaking to SBC News this morning (10 March), Pronet’s Director of Sales for Africa, Mark Schmidt, discussed the future of mobile gaming in the continent’s betting sector, as well as the spread of 5G and the opportunities this presents.
