SBC News Nicola Fitton - Conor McGregor is a 'game changer' for Betsafe marketingNicola Fitton Managing Director of Betsafe Europe (Bettson AB Group), has detailed that securing UFC star ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor as its new Brand Ambassador represents a significant milestone for the ambitious multi-market bookmaker.

Speaking to sports betting affiliate BettingPro.com, Fitton details that Betsafe has partnered with a global sporting icon who carries an immense profile and audience on all media verticals (social media, broadcast, news etc…).

“Conor is one of the biggest and most globally recognized athletes in the world today, defined by his extreme talent, work ethic and personality, which are values that we reflect every day at Betsafe. We firmly believe that passion always overcomes the odds, and there is no sports star in the world today that both inspires and embodies passion as much as Conor, and this was behind our decision.” Fitton states

The Betsafe executive further details to BettingPro.com, the complexities of securing McGregor as an Ambassador. McGregor is an athlete at the ‘height of his game’, who on 26 August could change the world of combat sports should he defeat unbeaten boxing champ Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather.

’49 have tried, and 49 have failed’ states a ‘perfect record’ Mayweather, but an undeterred Betsafe is backing its Irish Ambassador. Last week the bookmaker launched its ‘VIP Notorious’ promotion offering new customers 49/1 odds on McGregor achieving the impossible.

Win or lose, Betsafe will back McGregor for a planned 18-months, stating that the fighting Irishman will be a key figure in its marketing and customer engagement. Closing the interview, Fitton further detailed that as a multi-market brand, Betsafe has ‘big plans’ for the Irish betting market.
