Jeevan Jeyaratnam – Super Soccer Oddsfeed – BOFCON Speaker

supersoccer-JeevanJeyaratnamJeevan Jeyaratnam is a Senior Odds Compiler at Super Soccer. The key product, GPS (Goalscorer Prices and Settlement) utilises Super Soccer’s odds pricing and Abelson Info’s data to provide a complete goalscorer solution.

He will be appearing at the Betting on Football conference (Stamford Bridge, 21st April), speaking on our trading places panel. The session will be sponsored by TXODDS, and we will be asking ‘how has the increasing availability of data affected trading patterns?’

Which football club do you support?

Whoever carries the weight of my money!

I’ve no particular allegiance to anyone, but having been fortunate enough, on four or five occasions, to have been part of Dortmund’s famous “Yellow Wall” in the Südtribüne, they rank as a big favourite.

I’ve visited all sorts of European stadia, from the fortress-like Santiago Bernabéu to the desolate Stadion Stožice, home Olimpija Ljubljana, but the Westfalenstadion (Signal Iduna Park) is by far the best for passion and atmosphere.

How do you judge their season so far?

It’s been an excellent season under new coach Thomas Tuchel. The team has made steady progress through his excellent tutelage. A solid performance at home to Bayern Munich has opened up the title race, and a stunning home leg win against Spurs in the Europa League has cemented their favourites tag. With Hertha Berlin awaiting in the German Cup semi-finals this could yet be a silverware-laden season.

How does your role with Super Soccer Oddsfeed involve you in betting and football?

Football is the be all and end all for myself and my colleagues; we are B2B specialists, providing goalscorer pricing across a huge array of leagues for a top class client book. Our GPS System (www.gps-system.co.uk) continues to grow, with the Danish Super Liga the latest coverage addition.

We need to know everything about the leagues we deal with, from transfers, suspensions and form to positional changes etc. and so we’re fully immersed within the soap opera styled world of professional football.

Why did you want to speak at #bofcon?

Having been an active part of the first BOFCON in 2014 we were very keen to be involved again. Not only are the discussions relevant to our business, but the quality of the connections made at events like these cannot be understated. The audience are, by in large, proactive decision makers at firms’ key to our future growth.

What will you be discussing on your panel?

We’ll be discussing the effects of improved data aggregation on sportsbooks and their clients. How has the prevalence of detailed analytics impacted on the methodology both sportsbooks and punters take to pricing and trading?

With a plethora of “one-stop-shop” providers flooding the market and making off-the-shelf sportsbooks available to all, I’ll be taking a closer look as to the validity of this approach, as well as examining some of the ethical issues involved in the procurement of this data.

What are you most excited about ahead of the conference?

I’m keen to hear more about Fantasy Sports and how the panel see it integrating with the betting industry. Feel free to come and chat to me during the lunch and drinks breaks!
