Chelsea FC nets MSport betting partnership in Africa

MSport has been named the official betting partner of Chelsea FC for the region of Africa.

The partnership – intended to enhance both parties’ presence and scope in the African market – has placed great emphasis on “excellence, innovation and connecting with a passionate fan base”.

Chelsea will look to engage with its fans across the continent by utilising MSport’s betting platform for players to engage with an enhanced betting experience.

Adrian Cheka, MSport Sportsbook Director, said: “We are thrilled to announce this new partnership with Chelsea FC. This collaboration goes beyond just business; it’s about celebrating and strengthening the natural bond between two winning entities.

“Chelsea FC has a rich history with African players and fans, and together, we aim to push boundaries and set new standards of excellence in the African market.”

The five-time Premier League champions have a rich history in Africa, with one of its greatest players Didier Drogba hailing from the Ivory Coast. The partnership aims to further strengthen this bond and connect Chelsea FC with its vast fan base across the continent.

Casper Stylsvig, Chelsea FC’s Chief Revenue Officer, added: “We’re delighted to partner with MSport in their commitment to delivering exceptional experiences and driving innovation.

“Africa continues to be an important region to the club, underpinned by our large following of committed and passionate fans. This partnership underscores our shared ambition to expand our legacy in the African region and provide fans with an engaging and immersive experience.”

MSport is focused on bringing a unique userface for its African player base, with a strong foothold in countries such as Nigeria and Ghana.

The betting platform also has shared its ambitions to expand further across more markets and now with the partnership with Chelsea, MSport will look to leverage the Premier League club’s standing as one of England’s most popular teams to support that.

There has been some backlash surrounding recent deals between English top-flight clubs and betting companies, particularly around deals with overseas casinos unfamiliar to UK audiences. Crystal Palace’s deal with Net88 and Wolves’ deal with DE.BET, for example, received a somewhat frosty reception on social media platform X.
