Trevor Keane of Sportego takes the Tipster Challenge at Ascot

Trev 400After a day for short price winners last time out at Haydock, Stephen Harris has come in with a revised approach for Royal Ascot, backing the favourite in each of the first 3 races. Can he close the 18-point gap at the top of a competitive Tipster Challenge leaderboard?

Stephen, the Horse Racing Guru at bettingexpert, will be up against 2nd placed SBC News, the experts from Timeform and our special Guest Tipster for Week 21, Trevor Keane. Can Trevor hold on to the lead for the Guest team?

Trevor is the Founder of Sportego, a B2B and B2C fantasy sports provider. Sportego is based in Ireland, and their aim is to help better connect sports clubs with fans via improved engagement and interaction opportunities.

SBC News: Remarkable

Taken to edge his shorter priced stable companion Castle Harbour. Will be there or thereabouts.

bettingexpert: Ribchester

Richard Fahey’s 3-y-o posted a career best effort when 3rd behind Galileo Gold in the 2000 Guineas and sets the standard on that form. The stable is in blistering form and the switch to faster ground is likely to bring about further improvement.

Timeform: Remarkable

John Gosden holds a strong hand with both Remarkable and Castle Harbour making plenty of appeal. Both have strong handicap form to their name this term, with the former narrowly selected given he is currently twice the price of his stablemate.

Sportego: Remarkable

Runner up to Log Out Island in a listed race at Newbury and has two wins from four outings. Certainly worth an E/W punt.

SBC News: Lady Aurelia

Lady Aurelia won by seven and a half lengths on debut at Keeneland in April.

bettingexpert: Lady Aurelia

American Wesley Ward has a great record at this meeting, with a lot of his juveniles possessing terrific pace and physically looking a long way ahead of their European rivals. This filly made a winning debut at Keeneland in April and it is very significant that she is his chosen candidate.

Timeform: Camargue

Both race and track experience could give Camargue an edge in a hotly-contested Queen Mary, the race she landed last time having been won in the past by the likes of Besharah and Rizeena.

Sportego: Al Johrah

Two wins from two starts, so Al Johrah gets my tip over Lady Aurelia.

SBC News: Usherette

Starts as odds on favourite after completing a hat-trick of wins last time out at Newmarket.

bettingexpert: Usherette

Andre Fabre’s 4-y-o filly has been brought along with typical patience and skill by her veteran trainer, and she looked one to keep on side of when swooping late to land the Group 2 Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket last month.

Timeform: Always Smile

Always Smile would be unbeaten if she hadn’t hung left on hitting the front in the Sandringham at this meeting last year, and can take the step up to pattern company in her stride on the back of an impressive York reappearance success.

Sportego: Lucida

Came third last year and will once again have the experienced Kevin Manning in the saddle.

SBC News: A Shin Hikari

Proved way too good for the field in the Prix d’Ispahan at Chantilly last month, and could well be a similar story here.

bettingexpert: Found

Tough, proven performer who seems sure to give his running in the soft ground and represents far better value than the hyped up odds-on favourite.

Timeform: A Shin Hikari

It’s hard to get away from the Japanese raider after his devastating display on his European debut at Chantilly (soft) last month.

Sportego: A Shin Hikari

10 wins in 12 races and winner at the Prix d’Ispahan last month.

SBC News: Convey

A pair of second places during May. Taken to go one better at Ascot than he did at York and Haydock.

bettingexpert: Donncha

Ran a blinder on his reappearance in heavy ground at Doncaster and had an excuse next time. Looks sure to handle the conditions better than most and warrants a hefty E/W investment with the terms in the punters favour.

Timeform: Donncha

It’s hard to be confident in a race as competitive as this but Donncha has plenty going for him and appeals as a solid each-way play.

Sportego: Convey

Has finished second in his last two outings with Ryan Moore definitely worth an E/W.

SBC News: Make Fast

A tough race to call given the size of the field. Make Fast can spring a surprise, after coming 2nd in a listed race at Epsom less than two weeks ago,

bettingexpert: Aljuljalah

Bumped into a terrific prospect in Nemoralia last time at York (when possibly racing up with a strong pace was something of a disadvantage), and is likely to be spot on for this under the guidance of the excellent Roger Varian.

Timeform: Persuasive

Looks a smart filly in the making, again winning with plenty in hand at Chelmsford a fortnight ago, and she is very much one to keep on the right side of.

Sportego: Diploma

Won in York last month and gets my tip just ahead of Persuasive.
