Luke Tarr of Star Sports takes the Tipster Challenge at Hamilton

Luke TarrLuke Tarr, Head of Public Relations at Star Sports, becomes the latest industry expert to take the Tipster Challenge at Hamilton today. He has been with the company since March 2008.

Star Sports are an independent bookmaker, offering unique bespoke services to their clients both on and off course, as well as facilitating some of the largest industry bets.

He will be up against the experts from Timeform, SBC News and a resurgent Stephen Harris from bettingexpert, who will be looking to build on last week’s long odds win on 14/1 Battaash.

Check out the tips for today’s seven races. And don’t forget to follow all the day’s action via @SBCGAMINGNEWS. The first race in Scotland gets underway at 2:00 pm!

SBC News: Bourbonisto

He comes in with the strongest form in the field, and came close a few weeks ago in Doncaster.

bettingexpert: Rag Tatter

Comes from a yard hitting form and he can go close on debut in a race where those with experience look limited.

Timeform: Bourbonisto

Just failed to make a winning debut at Doncaster and can go one better with improvement forthcoming. Teofonic looks a likely newcomer and is feared most ahead of Boundsy.

Star Sports: Jock Talk

The Irish Raider Jock Talk is an early foal from the first crop of prolific group winner Famous Name and could go well at a price.

SBC News: Gaelic Wizard

Gaelic Wizard was a clear winner at Thirsk in early May and escaped an unreasonable handicap rise.

bettingexpert: Danish Duke

Back on a winning mark and will find this a lot more suitable than the 5f trip last time out.

Timeform: Danish Duke

Ruth Carr has her team in good form and Danish Duke might be the answer in an open heat, with the step back up to 6f expected to be in his favour.

Star Sports: Born Innocent

Born Innocent has a plater’s mark and now gets to show his true ability on handicap debut.

SBC News: Ruby’s Day

Back on the same winning mark as when she won at Doncaster last July, and shaped well on reappearance.

bettingexpert: Oriental Splendour

Meets rivals who have shot up the weights for winning recently and he might just have been running himself fit in two starts this season.

Timeform: Classy Anne

Classy Anne made a progressive sort pull out all the stops at Ayr last week, and should take a bit of stopping off the same mark at a course where she’s enjoyed success in the past.

Star Sports: Imperial Legend

It has been a long time since Imperial Legend last won, but this course winner has ideal conditions, a decent draw and has dropped to a mark he can soon exploit.

SBC News: Millefiori

The hat-trick should be in reach for Millefiori, the high quality horse in this field.

bettingexpert: Millefiori

Looked miles ahead of the handicapper when storming home alone at Ayr on Monday and can complete a hat-trick.

Timeform: Millefiori

Hung left in the closing stages but still had 10 lengths in hand when scoring at Ayr on Monday. She should make a bold bid to land the hat-trick and gets our vote.

Star Sports: Duke Of Yorkshire

All eyes will be on Millefiori after her Ayr romp, but Duke Of Yorkshire hasn’t been penalised for an easy win last time out. Drawn to attack again, he can make the favourite work.

SBC News: Haidees Reflection

Won at Ayr a month ago, a win which now appears all the more impressive given the subsequent victory of Tellovoi’s, who came in 2nd on that day.

bettingexpert: Bad Penny

A work in progress and improved when 4th last time out, so should go well here from a 3lb lower mark.

Timeform: Haidees Reflection

Has built up a good strike since joining Jim Goldie, improving along the way, and she looks capable of defying a 5lb rise given the style of her winning return at Ayr.

Star Sports: Chelabella

Chelabella makes her handicap debut off 70 and can prove above her mark. She has been steadily learning her trade and this represents her chance to shine.

SBC News: Celtic Power

Enters as the favourite and gets our vote, but will need to improve on a 5th place finish over this course and distance from earlier this month.

bettingexpert: Clear Spell

Clear Spell has a decent record at this track, and comes from a small stable enjoying a purple patch.

Timeform: Celtic Power

Needed the run when behind Nonagon on his reappearance. Jim Goldie’s unexposed 4-y-o might be worth chancing to leave that effort well behind and notch a second C&D success in his last 3 starts.

Star Sports: Where’s Tiger

A wide open affair with horses who find it hard to win. A chance is taken with Where’s Tiger who is on a decent mark and gets the services of top course jockey Joe Fanning.

SBC News: Northern Sky

Trainer Adrian Keatley enjoyed a hat-trick at Ayr last week and will be confident of further success with Northern Sky.

bettingexpert: Forecaster

Makes his handicap debut in a weak race and is a very rare runner up so far north for Michael Bell.

Timeform: Northern Sky

The Irish Raider ran her best race to date when fourth at Roscommon recently, and rates the type to build on that now.

Star Sports: Northern Sky

Fresh from winning his first classic, fledgling trainer Adrian Keatley continues to enjoy his Scottish raids. In Northern Sky, he has a potentially well handicapped horse with a decent pedigree whom it should pay to follow.
