PIN-UP Global has forcefully responded to further allegations from Ukraine’s State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), rejecting claims of corruption and abetting Russia.
As reported by iGamingExpert, the international iGaming group issued a formal statement defending itself against what it described as “unsubstantiated accusations” targeting its Ukrainian subsidiary.
The SBI has imposed sanctions and launched legal proceedings, alleging irregularities in business transactions between PIN-UP Ukraine and its European parent company.
PIN-UP Global maintains that all operations and financial transfers were conducted under standard software licensing agreements and were fully compliant with local and international laws. The group denounced Ukrainian authorities’ actions as part of a worrying trend of regulatory overreach.
“The sanctions imposed by Ukrainian authorities, following unsubstantiated accusations against our partner in Ukraine and the launch of court proceedings, were — unfortunately — to be expected,” the company said in its statement to iGamingExpert.
CEO Marina Ilina reinforced the group’s position, stating: “We will not allow the reputation of a brand with over nine years of history as a trusted and transparent partner to be discredited.”
PIN-UP Global warned that the SBI’s actions risk undermining trust in Ukraine’s regulatory system at a time when international investor confidence is critical. The company is closely monitoring forthcoming regulatory reforms to Ukraine’s gambling sector.
In March, the government announced the formation of a new regulator, PlayCity, and is preparing amendments to the 2020 Gambling Law to tighten state control over gambling operations and transactions.
PIN-UP Global signalled it would continue to defend its business interests through legal means and remains committed to operating transparently. It further called on Ukrainian authorities to ensure due process and avoid politicising commercial disputes during a time of national crisis.
“Our legal team is firmly committed to defending our position because we stand by the truth,” the group concluded.
