Mindway and AnonyMind merge expertise for harm treatment solution

Mindway AI and AnonyMind have entered into a partnership with the goal of combining their respective problem gambling detection and treatment capabilities for a cross-industry offering.

Utilising its AI-driven technology, Mindway will work to address gambling addiction for AnonyMind users, eyeing up a ‘complete’ and ‘comprehensive’ solution to gambling harm.

Meanwhile, operators using the Better Collective-owned tech firm’s services will be able to directly refer problem gamblers to AnonyMind’s counselling programmes.

Rasmus Kjaergaard, CEO of Mindway AI, remarked: “At Mindway AI, we are committed to using our technology to help operators promote responsible gambling and prevent addiction. We are thrilled to partner with AnonyMind, who share our commitment to addressing this important issue.”

Mindway AI’s software is based on a combination of machine learning algorithms and a human approach, using psychologists’ assessments to identify signs of at-risk gambling behaviour.

The group’s tech has been utilised by a range of betting and gaming stakeholders across the world, currently active in over 21 countries, with more than 6.5 million active monthly players reached.

Notable partners include Australian operator Tabcorp, the Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC) and UK-based harm minimisation consultancy EPIC Risk Management.

Meanwhile, AnonyMind utilises treatment methods based on Clinical Psychologists, using treatment methods such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, third wave CBT models, DBT informed approaches and EMDR.

Andrew Plummer, Head of Partnerships, AnonyMind, said: “This first of its kind partnership sees the integration of Mindway’s market leading AI technologies with the AnonyMind CarePlus service to proactively identify problem gambling within an operators’ network and provide independent, flexible and sustainable intervention support to prevent the escalation of harmful behaviours.

“We look forward to this collaboration and the important insights that can be gained through truly independent early identification and intervention.”

AnonyMind utilises a ‘clinical formulation’ to ensure its clients are matched with the best therapist, offering its services from locations such as Manchster’s Leon House, where it works with fellow treatment organisation Gordon Moody.
