Scientific Games grows German instant lottery offering

Scientific Games (SG) Corporation has announced a fresh five year contract related to the provision of lottery games and services for the southwest German state.

Agreeing the deal with Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz GmbH, SG are to provide lottery instant titles and its Cooperative Services Program (CSP), for instant games management for the state and its approximately four million residents.

Providing instant games to the lottery for in excess of 30 years, SG also provides its lottery central gaming system, retailer terminals and sports betting.

During the course of its partnership, Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz has seen its lottery instant product grow almost 382 percent, since the establishment of the CSP ten years ago.

Matthias Müller, Managing Director of Germany for Scientific Games, commented: “We are pleased that we were able to prevail in the Europe-wide tender and Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz once again chose Scientific Games as their instant games partner due to our local resources and know how, logistics infrastructure in close proximity to the Lottery’s premises and retail network, as well as our more than four decades of experience with instant games.”

Amongst the CSP services provided to Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz from SG’s Bielefeld facility, includes marketing, consulting, design and production of instant games, as well as inside sales warehousing and distribution for the Lottery’s network of about 930 retailers.

John Schulz, Senior Vice President, Instant Products for Scientific Games, added: “Scientific Games has collaborated with Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz on a full category management approach to marketing their instant games, and we are honored to have their trust in our partnership and continue our great work together for another five years.”

First launching the first instant games in 1974, SG states that it currently supplies around 70 percent of lottery instant games worldwide.

Last week saw the announcement of the launch of the National Lottery of Kazakhstan, after a 15-year contract was awarded to JSC Satty Zhuldyz who is to operated the offering.
