Social games sports start-up WinView, a business looking to engage players with real time mobile sports mechanisms offered through synchronised two-screen viewing has announced that it has secured $1.2 million (€1.1 million) in second round venture investment.
The funds raised will be used to grow WinView’s development and operations ahead of the planned launch of WinView mobile games in time for the . The app will look to offer US customer a similar feel to in-play betting functionalities as well as further engagement mechanics
WinView management detailed that the its latest round of funding had been raised through private investors mainly compromising of senior executives
WinView Games founder and CEO Dave Lockton commented on the secured investment
“There is an inevitable progression of media and entertainment genres that leverage technology to reach the desired mobile and real-time consumption in Europe. This axiom is already being applied to televised-sports-based games of chance and skill. The European migration of betting and fantasy-based gaming, from season to weekly to daily, which is now over 70 % live in-play on mobile, is primed to happen with televised sports in the U.S.”
Combined with its latest round of funding WinView to date has raised over $3.2 million in venture financing.
