Solidicon turns to BetComply for regulated market expansion

Solidicon has turned to BetComply in a move which pushes the supplier’s presence to more key markets.

A Swedish B2B licence kicks off the partnership, allowing Solidicon to offer its portfolio of games, including titles such as Navigator and Swiminator, to Swedish-licensed operators.

The Swedish B2B licence was introduced in 2023 and has been made mandatory for any supplier offering games to operators licensed in the country.

A growing number of regulators have introduced supplier licences over the last few years. Mike de Graaff, Chief Compliance Officer at BetComply, asserted that this trend is only going to continue.

The CCO said: “It has never been more important for games studios to get their ducks in a row and stay ahead of regulatory requirements. We’ll be working closely with Solidicon to achieve just that.”

Sweden a safe bet

Numerous jurisdictions seem to be in a state of never ending change when it comes to gambling, and this is particularly true of the Swedish market, which has not been immune to challenges during its near six and a half year lifespan.

Since the re-regulation in 2019, it has overseen a clear framework take shape that has prioritised player safety, responsible gambling, and transparency – a positive foundation to build on – although concerns around the extent of black market activity do linger.

Solidicon, headquartered in Gothenburg, is looking to position itself for further growth in this market. The firm’s partnership with BetCompy may see the latter help Solidicon as it looks to expand in other regulated markets.

Richard Rydell, COO at Solidicon, added: “Gaining a Swedish B2B licence is an important step as we look to expand our footprint in regulated markets.

“BetComply’s support and hands-on expertise made the process far smoother than we expected, and we look forward to working with their team both in Sweden and other markets going forward.”
