Regulatory consultancy BetComply has helped boutique games studio Playbook Fusion secure its Swedish permit as the developer prepares to expand into additional regulated markets.

The UK-based firm supported Playbook Fusion throughout the Swedish approval process, with the developer securing approval in less than two weeks.

It said Playbook Fusion’s real-money football management betting game requires a deeper level of regulatory expertise due to the nature of the product and the requirements involved in securing market approvals.

BetComply will also support Playbook Fusion with regulatory approvals across a number of additional jurisdictions as the studio expands its regulated footprint.

The Swedish approval follows a partnership between the companies that began last year, when BetComply supported Playbook Fusion with its UK Gambling Commission licence, MGA recognition notice and ISMS certification with eCogra for its Playbook Football product.

“As we take Playbook Fusion into more regulated markets, every jurisdiction brings its own requirements and complexities,” said Steve Rogers, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Playbook Fusion.

“BetComply understands both the regulatory side and the nature of our product, which makes them an invaluable partner as we scale.”

For BetComply, it follows a deal of a similar nature last year between the firm and Solidicon

The business has also recently partnered with Omnitronix and iGP as it strengthens its credibility within the gambling industry.

Mike de Graaff, Chief Compliance Officer at the business, has continuously advocated for compliance, and last year he told SBC News that the time is now for “real-time compliance” as regulators across Europe ramp up enforcement measures.

On this deal, he commented: “Playbook Fusion is moving quickly, but it is doing so with compliance built into the process from the beginning.

“Sweden is another important step, and we are already supporting the team across a number of additional jurisdictions as Playbook Fusion continues its international expansion.”
