Playbook Fusion to ‘bridge’ video games with sports betting

Former Chief Commercial Officer of Inspired Entertainment, Steve Rogers, is launching a new company to deliver “never-before-seen” sports gaming content. 

Called Playbook Fusion, the game studio will leverage Rogers’ more than 20 years of experience in the gambling industry to give operators “an entirely new genre of immersive, sports themed gambling products” by combining sports betting and video gaming. 

Rogers added: “Launching Playbook Fusion provides an incredible opportunity to bring something totally new to the online gaming industry. 

“The unique experience within the team from the worlds of video gaming and gambling means we are going to create an entirely new content vertical that will take player engagement to the next level. 

“Our games will set the standard for others to follow, and as a pioneer of the format, I am confident that we will quickly become one of the most in-demand sports content providers in the industry.” 

Joining the new project as an Executive Creative Advisor will be Santiago Jaramillo, who will collaborate with Rogers to bring Playbook Fusion’s vision into existence using his 13 years of experience in the video game sector and previous roles at industry behemoths such as Electronic Arts.

On his new role, Jaramillo commented: “I am thrilled to be part of a venture that stands at the confluence of gaming innovation and sports betting. 

“We are bringing together top talent from complementary industries to carve out a new niche in sports betting entertainment that will transform passive interactions into engaging gaming experiences, setting a new standard for what players can expect.”

Playbook Fusion’s first game debut will be football-themed and is expected to launch in early 2025, with games based on other sports like cricket, basketball and more expected to follow after.
