British bookmaker Fitzdares has announced the hiring of Nick Dutton as its new Chief Operating Officer.
With 36 years’ experience in IT & technology roles largely within the gaming sector, Dutton joins Fitzdares with immediate effect, where he will oversee technological improvements that will drive brand growth and provide an unrivalled user experience for all Fitzdares members.
The company has emphasised that Dutton will be a key leadership team member, joining from Sporting Group where, as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), he played a significant role in key mergers, IT operations, product development and quality assurance.
Will Woodhams, Fitzdares CEO, commented: “We are over the moon to beef up our senior team with a highly experienced operator like Nick.
“He brings over 35 years of experience in the sector to our UK and international operations and will help make sure Fitzdares moves into our next 100 years with top-tier technology and services that will continue to offer a sporting experience like no other to our customers.
“Nick will also help to improve our non-racing products as we explore new opportunities towards achieving double-digit year-on-year business growth. He will be part of a rebuffed senior executive team alongside another recent recruit in Martin Semler, our new Group CFO, who is based in our Toronto office.”
Meanwhile, the new COO boasts over three decades of experience working in a variety of C-Suite roles for major organisations including FDJ Gaming Solutions, Ladbrokes Coral and gaming solutions provider Laverock Von Schoultz.
Dutton will now take on board responsibility for Information Technology, Product, People and Trading.
Fitzdares has lauded Dutton’s acquisition as a proud moment for the company, suggesting he will be a key player in the brand’s quest to ‘provide a sporting experience like no other’.
“Fitzdares is an industry trailblazer, with an unrivalled blend of cutting-edge technology, a truly personal feel for its customers, and bold ambitions,” added Dutton on his appointment.
“The gaming industry is one of the most competitive out there, and Fitzdares offers something unique to its members that sets them apart. I’m excited to help build on this and ensure Fitzdares leads the pack when it comes to technology, service and customer experience.”
The news comes following a successful calendar year that saw the bookmaker extend its partnership with Premier League club Fulham FC for the launch of a new luxury members club, and collaborate with Quantum Leap Solutions to launch ‘The Racing App’.
