BETER handshake

Maria Mashchenko to lead BETER’s sports business division

BETER has strengthened oversight of its sports operations, appointing Maria Mashchenko as General Manager to its Sports Business department.

Mashchenko has been with BETER for two years in the capacity of Chief Operating Officer, taking on the new role as Sports Business GM as the firm aims to ‘strengthen each product vertical’.

In her new role, Mashchenko will be responsible for ‘building dedicated teams’ working on BETER’s sports operations, specifically seeking people with a passion for both traditional sports and esports.

Gal Ehrlich, BETER CEO, said: “Since joining the company, Maria has been instrumental in upgrading our sports and esports tournament offering – providing operators with the most comprehensive access to some of the best sports tournaments in the world.

“As such, we are now recognised as being a leader in providing fast paced events within the betting industry and with Maria’s new role as Sports General Manager, this offering will only continue to evolve.”

An additional key area of focus for BETER’s new sports lead will be the coordination of its table tennis discipline, particularly the Setka Cup.

One of BETER’s most popular tournaments, the Setka Cup gains over 13m views per month globally, having doubled its fixture number last year.

Striving to maintain momentum on BETER’s sports and esports process, Mashchenko will leverage her two-years experience at the firm, working on development of in-house, outsourced and franchised sports and esports tournaments.

BETER explained that she has played a key role in expanding the number of sports covered in its operational scope, driving interest and growth within the wider igaming sector.

“BETER Sports is a product that has grown in strength,” Mashchenko commented.

“When the company first launched in 2018, it only offered one table tennis table back in Kyiv and today, we offer 13 different sports arenas across four different countries, which is something I’m extremely proud to have been involved in.

“I believe that this is just the start for BETER Sports and together with our sports team we’ll be able to offer even more industry leading content that I’m so excited to be a part of.”
