BetVictor secures Gold Cup sponsorship via multi-fixture Newbury deal

Online betting operator BetVictor has secured a multi-fixture sponsorship agreement with Newbury Racecourse for the remainder of 2021, including the Gold Cup.

The collaboration will see the firm sponsor sponsorship of 41 races across 13 reacedays throughout the year, beginning with the BetVictor March Opening Weekend on 5 and 6 March, featuring the Betvictor ‘Greatwood’ Gold Cup.

In addition, the operator has gained the naming rights to the BetVictor London Cup and BetVictor Carnovaron Stakes at the prestigious Al Shaqab Lockinge Day event on 15 May.

“We are really looking forward to bringing our sponsorship to life at Newbury Racecourse in 2021 and are excited about this brand-new partnership,” said Matt Scarrott, BetVictor’s Director of Sportsbook. 

“Horse Racing has long been an important part of BetVictor, we are proud to be investing significantly into the sport with our sponsorship at Newbury as well as our ongoing brand ambassador relationships with participants that excel in racing.”

The partnership will continue throughout the summer, seeing the bookmaker take the title reigns of BetVictor Hungerford Raceday and Newbury’s flagship Party in the Paddock concert day, featuring a guest performance by Olly Murs once the fixtures have concluded.

These meetings will be followed by the final flat fixture of the year at the end of October, and will conclude with the BetVictor Jump Season Opener in early November and the BeetVictor Festive Raceday in December.

“We are excited to work with the team at BetVictor on some unique digital activation ideas and it is even more positive following the recent government announcement that we will be able to welcome back crowds and bring some of these ideas to life on course.”

The bookmaker will host an online Cheltenham Preview supporting the Greatwood Charity for Newbury Annual members to celebrate its new partnership, with guest appearances from the firm’s ambassadors Jamie Snowden and Rachel Blackmore. The company has supported Newbury’s charity raceday for a number of years.
